Bernie, there's a RAAF PR video on the Nigerian trip. It's called 'Operation Eastbound' and I have a copy of it.

Some time ago, I uploaded a copy of Operation Eastbound onto the 'Ex-RAAF Where Are They Now' Facebook Group. The link is below. Click on it and it should take you straight to the video providing you are on Facebook, that is.

This is what I wrote as a preamble to the video ...

'Nostalgia video 'Operation Eastbound'. 82 Bomber Wing and 36 Squadron represent Australia at Nigeria's independence from the Commonwealth on 01 October 1960. Three Canberra Bombers and one C130A make the 30,000km round trip. A 'mouldy-oldie', but interesting viewing. Might bring back some memories for some. A bit before my time!!'
