CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities. This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only. We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund. Messages soliciting sponsorship for causes or charities other than the Fusilier ones mentioned above should not be placed on the message board and may be removed by the Webmaster.

AFGHANISTAN DAY SERVICE 3rd OCTOBER 2019 – HOLY SEPULCHRE CHURCH LONDON

General
This year the Regiment will mark Afghanistan Day by having a special service at Holy Sepulchre Church on Thursday 3rd of October.

The service will include the interment of the ashes of the remains of Royal Fusilier Colours which had been laid up at Holy Sepulchre without Newgate and St Michael’s, Cornhill. Both churches stand within the City of London.

The Colours are those of the 2nd Bn Royal Fusiliers which were carried in battle in Afghanistan in 1880 and also those of the 10th Bn Royal Fusiliers (Stockbrokers Bn) which are of Great War vintage.

The event will consist of a short church service followed by a discrete interment ceremony within the Royal Fusiliers Garden of Remembrance. There will be a number of official guests which include Fusiliers and influencers from the City of London, the wider Army and the Civic authorities.

This is an important occasion for the Regiment. The Colonel of the Regiment will be in attendance and it is hoped to have a strong representation from the First and Fifth Fusiliers.
