Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

There was uncertainty in his eyes as they met each other's gazes and she was instantly intrigued. He was definitely not from around here, but why did he not want her to read him? Usually only wolves that had something to hide would be so insecure about what others see. It only pulled her in that much more, being ever the curious little assassin. Her lips twitched with amusement though when he grinned as she asked if he was sick. It seemed he'd caught the humor of her words. Well, at least he had a sense of humor, then. But his words puzzled her. Essence of a witch? "When you don't fully understand something, it's all too easy to find yourself buried beneath its power. So you carry the essence of a witch? What's that like?" There was only open curiosity in her eyes as she looked him over, watching his every movement and expression.

Then he said that he wore the shadow of a witch and now she basked in it. She glanced down at the dark water around her, her nose twitching. It didn't smell weird or off and neither did he, only the faint scent of a female clung to his coat. He talked of covens and she arched a brow. "How would I know if there were covens in Moladian? I'm guessing that's not something openly advertised." The way he spoke of witches and such intrigued her. She wanted to know more, if only to satisfy her own curiosity. It sounded like the greatest mystery and what else did she have to do today? Then he went to step out and she tensed, not sure of his intentions. He said something about asking the shadow caster to take back whatever was shed in the shadows and told her to eat sage.

She tilted her head, watching him. "So the shadows could harm me? How do you know I'm not a master of shadows, myself?" She could sense that he wanted to say more but he seemed uncertain. She stepped closer to him, wading through the water like for all the world that she belonged there. "I am Zarah. Who might the shadows call you?"
