Hi again Lindsey
Sadly I am struggling with this one.
I can find no record of a John Stott with the Regimental Number 9008 or any number near it. The National Archives Medal Rolls show 13 John Stott's who served with the Lancashire Fusiliers. None are 9008. Again, Ancestry.com record a similar number named John Stott but not a 9008. The Forces War Records Web Site records over 70 John Stott's or J Stott's who served during WWI. Of the Lancashire Fusiliers shown none are 9008. His parents details do not assist in this type of enquiry. Are you absolutely sure he enlisted into the Lancashire Fusiliers? Where did you obtain his ' possible ' Regimental Number of 9008?
I have gone through each of the 13 shown on the Medal Rolls with the name John Stott and serving with the Lancashire Fusiliers. It was often the case that men were moved to other Units and ended up with a different Regimental Number. None of those I checked were ever 9008.
Simply searching Stott 9008 on the Medal Rolls Index comes up with no results.
