It is a criminal act and I've seen guys lose their jobs over it. Posted on September 11, 2019 at 06:06:02 PM by mink
I walked into the locker room one night in West Palm Beach jai alai only to see a player sitting by himself crying. I went over and sat next to him and asked him what was wrong and he told me he had hurt himself.
Only to find out later that he was caught dumping the ball a few times in the matinee and he was told he could either resign or they were going to call the police and press charges on him.
I also know of a few other times that it has happened and both of the times that I know of the player was fired. In West Palm Beach and one of the other times it was an American but the third time I know of it was a french guy and they sent him back to France and he was a really good player and still very young.
I mean just think if you had your hard-earned money on a player and he pulled a stunt like that not once but twice in a row. You would be very pissed off.
