The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Make 'em bow, one by, one by one...

Sorath had taken it upon herself to explore the lands her mother had dragged her to, though it's not without a wistful thought to the siblings that had been murdered or the father that she had seen cut down. The blue-eyed demon tried to forget those images. Mother had said it was no use to dwell in the past, and yet, she had brought them to where she had been born. She had grown up hearing stories of her grandmother--Ishtar. How she was sent from Hell and tried to expand the Demon's terrain..even for a time succeeded. But Angels had taken that away the same way that Angels had attacked her mother's pack and wiped out nearly all of them. Sorath had been smaller then, capable of hiding in smaller nooks and crannies. Still those blue eyes had witnessed more violence than most in her short life.

While her mother slept, Sorath had snuck away and began to explore the lands that her mother had spoke of. She had heard the stories of the meteor and death that had followed. Ishtar had been recalled and left her best friend in charge with her mate. It was this derivative that her mother had hoped to find. Sorath wasn't confident that her mother knew what she was talking about but the familial loyalty that had been imbedded into her since she was old enough to hear and understand that which was taught.

Her young legs lept from rock to rock, pausing only slightly to smell the different scents of wolves that had pasted through. There were so many unique scents, animals that seemed to be just passing through while others seemed to linger a bit more. In one of her pauses, she hears someone and scrambles for cover. She squeezes herself under a ledge and waits silently. Her ears twitch back and forth as she listened to the steady confident footsteps. When black legs step beside her, a growl curls into her throat and before she could even really consider what she was doing, she snapped out at the legs before scurrying to the other side of the pathway. From the shadows she demands to be left alone, "Leave me alone! Get away!" A mixture of fear, excitement and stubborn sensibility ran through her blood stream. Inadvertantly she had offered her voice first and growled to herself for doing so. She was a Demon, and far better than this black wolf that seemed so intent on following her.
