First off, good luck with the new positions you are taking on. I wonder how many people with jobs having to do with greyhound racing will stay until the end? Any state mandated benefits if they do?
Secondly, I agree with(well most of your points are factual)in regards to parimutel betting HOWEVER to say there is no desire for the product is far off. Billions and Billions are bet on horse racing across the world. The numbers are still very strong considering the takeaway from online/in person sports betting and hundreds of casinos opening up across the country and world. Dogs and jai alai pretty much washed up except Europe still has a strong dog racing culture that is beginning to fade as well. I agree parimutel has been crashing the last 15 years but for very good reasons as I mentioned above but they will always have a piece of the action. Horse racing is not going away and downsizing tracks doesn't mean the end of parimutel wagering. Factually speaking several tracks manage to break attendance/handle records year after year. Replies:
