Common

She had left. She had left it all behind her. Yet, she finds herself being called back the islands. It was a soft whisper, a tug in her chest, it sent her in search of her birthplace. She swam and swam, until her legs were weak with fatigue. She cursed the waves for pulling her off course, and blessed them when she felt them tug her finally towards the Islands.

Calypso stumbles up the beach, her legs weakly holding her upright. A sigh of relief exits her dark lips, as the terrain unfolds out before her, the Lost Islands. A breeze tosses her twisted and tangled locks, she felt a mess. Her coat was unkempt from the days she had been at sea, her ribs and hips are just beginning to show themselves beneath her tawny and white coat.

She steps from the beach, her hooves finding the well worn path that many have taken ahead of her. Along the wooded path she walks quietly, the branches above her head cast shadows across the trail. She can feel her strength returning, minute by minute.

The trail winds through the woods, until finally it opens up into the Commons, she halts on the edge. She spies a few horses meandering around, the Commons was no place for her. Quietly she slips along the edge of the clearing, hoping no one would notice painted girl. Ears swivel atop her head, listening for any sound of approach. She was wary of this place, it held a hint of danger and unpredictability, neither of these things she wanted on her first day back.
