Re(3): VILLA DE MADRID DAY 3 (10/13) --PROFESSIONAL FINAL AND 3RD PLACE MATCH--FULL MATCH VIDEOS--NO SPOILERS Posted on October 15, 2019 at 05:05:15 PM by jsolo
I agree with your assessment of the floor. Something was going on with it. Players were rubbing their sneakers on it a lot and Inza slipped and suffered a knee injury that didn't allow him to return.
I thought the amateur matches were fun to watch, lots of spirit. And the women's matches. It appears they are using a softer pelota and get more leeway with holding (an extra step, it looks like), but they are getting better every time I watch. I think these players were better than the ones at Fronton Mexico earlier in the season.
Perhaps sometime in the near future this competition will take place at Beti-Jai--also in Madrid (means "always festival" in Basque and was a generic name given to lots of frontons in the late 19th and early 20th centuries). Just imagine what open air competition in a huge and filled (4,000) arena would be like Replies:
