Use caution when the wolf comes knocking;

Rougaru listens intently as Noctis speaks, he had seen the foxes here, but as the boy describes bigger, grey creatures the wolf perks its ears with interest. He had not heard wolves on his island, nor had he caught a whiff of their scent... but coyotes... it was possible. Perhaps one had taken to the island... but Rougaru would make a point to not allow it to remain. Foxes on his island were one thing... coyotes were something entirely different. The coffee colored stallion snorts aloud and gives his proud head a shake. "They are nothing for you to worry about. Your dad will chase them off.
he says nudging Noctis with his muzzle.

As the boy acquiesce to his statement in regards to living in the open, the muscular stallion cannot help but to feel a sense of pride. He was clever, thoughtful even for such a young age. While Beowulf he notice, tended to rush headfirst into things, regardless of consequences, Noctis seemed to be more of a thinker. A trait not common among colts his age. "It is good you question things. he says, gazing fondly at the dark colored colt. "Had your brother done that he would not had wound up covered in skunk odor. Took Celestria awhile to get that scent off him." he adds with a chuckle.

As Noctis speaks again, Rougaru laughs, shaking his head and nodding. "Perhaps you are right." he says. He would never admit to the boy or anyone for that matter that the words were trials... that he was not used to spending time around foals but well, he was making an effort.

His gaze drifts up to Vasilisa as she drifts closer, green eyes meeting hers for but a moment before she turns her rump upon them both. For the first time Rougaru was not quite sure who it was directed at him or Noctis but he was pretty sure it might have been a mixture of both. He snorts at her and turns his gaze once more to Noctis. "Milk is for babies... as you get older, it does even less to sate your hunger and mother quits producing it when the time comes. Grasses can be tasty too, you just have to find the right ones." he adds with a knowing grin.
