*~My Next Collison Course~*

He liked the way her pretty ears flicked back the moment Liland reached out to nip her flesh right before she lunged with her own teeth to mark him in return. It was defiant and frankly, he found her spirit invigorating. She even scolded the stallion, stomping her hoof. When he made his own approach, he had meant only to offer her a chance to find somewhere else to live if she wanted without Liland bothering her anymore but it seemed his good intentions were not met as such. He waited as she looked between them before stomping her hoof and asking what good a choice did her. His owns lips parted but he was speechless to her angry words as she told him he must have nothing to offer. He wanted to tell her that yes, he had a home, but it was not the kind of home she deserved. What mare would want to live surrounded by all that testosterone?

Finally, he sighed and lowered his head before meeting her gaze again. "The freedom of choice and live by it is all that I can offer, unfortunately. My home...is a herd of bachelors. It is not the place for a pretty girl." His gaze was soft, almost sad in having to admit this. He wasn't ashamed to live in the Lagoon. He liked it there. He had no reason to want to live anywhere else. He just hadn't expected to be drawn to a mare such as he was to this one. He watched as the mare looked between them and his own ears flicked back in sadness because he knew before she even spoke that she was going to choose to go with Liland. He couldn't really say he blamed her. He only wished he could visit with her a little longer. She gave her name as Talien and his eyes widened as he took the name to memory. He wouldn't forget it any time soon.

But the way her eyes then cut to him before adding that neither one of them had asked for it scolded him like a hot iron. His head ducked sheepishly. "I apologize for the lack in manners, Talien. It was rude of me not to ask your name." He could hear that tongue lashing for hours if only to keep hearing her sweet angelic voice. But then the rougher voice of the other stallion cut in and his head lifted, eyes meeting evenly with the other stallion as he then tried to talk to him like he was an idiot. It would do no good to let Liland know just how much he did know of the ways of the world so instead he kept his voice even and calm as he replied. "If you only pretend in your actions, what good then is your word?" Collision was a big believer in actions speaking louder than words. He wasn't trying to talk down to Liland, just let him know that he might lose respect from others if he so easily let on that he was doing something "only in show."

He listened patiently then as the stallion greeted Talien more politely this time and tried to make her understand why he claimed her as such. Collision's nostrils wrinkled. He didn't have to agree with it, but it wasn't his place to get involved, not anymore than he already had. He only nodded in agreement when Liland said that it was nice to know there were still stallions that didn't see mares as possessions. He let Liland tell her that he would like it if she came to live with him. Collision only stood by, ready to let them go the minute she said yes but until then, he wanted her to know that he would serve as escort for anywhere else she might like to go. He couldn't stop looking at her, watching her every move. She was truly a vision to look at.
