Use caution when the wolf comes knocking;

There is something about Zjeena that Rougaru is not willing to give up. Sure he adored his mares, each in a different way. Monster would always be his other half, the one who soothed the beast and pushed him to become the stallion his father always wanted. With her, he felt the fire in his veins, the burning desire to mount the world and present them at her feet for praise. Everything between them was fueled by passion and fury. Calypso too, showed him a softer side, she welcomed the companionship he offered her and showed him the beauty that he often overlooked. Vasilisa, despite her jaded words, reminded him to be strong and resilient in the face of adversity. Even Celestria had her way of making him stick to his ways and reminding him over and over to be proactive in the big picture he and warsaw dreamed.

Then there was Zjeena. She was like a drink of fresh water when everything around him was tainted by salt. She was stoic and quiet, but in the quiet, one could not miss the strength that hide behind her eyes. She has an almost ethereal grace about her, one that is not tied completely to her roll as queen but to herself. He had at first seen her as a conquest, a reminder to Liland that he was the superior stallion and that whatever it was that he wanted he would obtain. In their first meeting, Zjeena had done her best to remain hard, uncaring for the argument between two males and instead here to play her part and leave. He had not meant to become attached to her for he knew that she would not stay forever despite what he might want.

One day became two, and two days into weeks. Like the others he did his best to spend time in their company. It had become a routine for them, walking alone along the beach, sharing words of wisdom about leading a herd and despite himself he found that he could not help but to fall into her words. She regaled him of stories of the Bay, of the way snows fell in soft blankets, making each day appear brand new and untouched. She spoke of the biting cold and of the warm summer days. In her colorful words, he could picture the landscape and see in it her love for the lands.

He knew she would leave him one day, when this day finally came, he was ready to free her just because of who she was. He had half expected her to deny his request, he would not have thought poorly of her had she done so. It was a last ditch effort on his part after all. He wolf wanted him to take her, to force himself upon her and ignore the hatred and distaste in her eyes but he could not bring him to do that. Not to her.

She does not speak her agreement, but instead takes a step towards him, her soft lips tracing a trail of soft touches along his jawline and neck. His heart begins to race within his chest, veins pulsing beneath his skin. He shivers in pleasure as he turns his own head to hers, proud neck arching over her smaller one, cradling her in a tender embrace. There was but one last night to be spent together and he was not about to waste it with a quick moment of passion. "Zjeena..." he murmurs, his husky voice raw with emotion. Emerald green eyes glitter in the dying light of day as he presses his own whiskered lips against her frame. Gingerly he mounts her, his broad frame draping across her sturdy back. Whispers of pleasure murmur into her ears as he takes her, his body rigid with release. For a moment he stays there, resting his form over hers, ensuring that it is his seed that will soon make her belly grow round. When finally he does slip from her back he moves once more to her side, his lips pressing tender kisses along her jaw. Take care of yourself in the Bay little dove, take care of our child." he coos. He knew that she will care for herself, she always did. He did not doubt her now but there was a sense of reassurance for himself when he said it aloud. He did not want her to leave, he did not want to watch Liland parade her around like his prized possession. Nonetheless, he respected her decision. At least now he would have a reason to visit and not even Liland's displeasure would stop him.

He cradles her close once more, forcing his heart to allow her the freedom his mind had agreed to. "You will always have a place here Zjeena." he murmurs once more, drawing a step away now to brush her long salt and pepper forelock from her eyes. Multifaceted eyes of emerald meet hers, "If he ever hurts you... if he ever hurts our child... I will kill him." he breathes, the words resolute in the air between them. He firmly meant it. Her loyalties might lie with the pale stallion of the Bay, but Zjeena held a place in his heart and one that would not be easily separated from him. His loyalty was to her.
