Autumnal sunlight beat down on the back of the bay mare, which made her back look ruddy in the direct sunlight. It was early morning, when the sun isn't quite at its zenith, yet filters down in rays that aren't quite golden yet pure. Each step further into the meadow alerted her of the scents of passerby within the confines of grass tanning in readiness of winter's harsher resolve. Tan hooves held the strands down, allowing them spring back in a slow manner as she had moved forward. A wary swing of her ivory skull allowed a survey of the area; peach dyed nostrils flared to take in the mixture of scents within the meadow.

Whilst she was not overly concerned of other equine there was an unfamiliarity with the lay of a land. A free mare, she had escaped binds to an old herd before now, and wandered with the purpose of a child given the first taste of freedoms. Pastel azure eyes caught sight of spikier bushes yet nothing else moved aside from the common field mouse through the grass, readying itself for winter. She wished to remain free, and yet, with winter coming, there was the uneasiness of a solo venture that drove her to seek consolation of a group.

In a moment of indecision her tan hooves danced against the ground in a beat of uncertainty. What lay within the meadows - what lay beyond? The simple lack of knowledge of her current location perturbed her. A mare that was comfortable most in the well-known, yet adventurous enough to extend her travels to the unknown, and perhaps a bit of a flighty creature given her unwillingness to shackles.
