Hi again Michelle
Now then....
Your grandfather is recorded as Pvt 242888 Alfred Curtis who served with the 2/6th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers. He served from 10.12.1915 until 6.6.19. He was discharged from service on this date under Paragraph 392 King's Regulations (xvi) as being longer fit for Military Service. He was awarded the Silver War Badge (B.232036) on his discharge along with his Campaign Medals. War Office Reference H2572/1.
Click on the link below for his full Medal Entitlement as shown on the Medal Rolls held at the National Archives. He is also recorded on the Medal Card Index with Ancestry.com. You can download his medal card for a small fee.
On 30.10.18. his name appeared on the Daily List of POW's, number 5709, as issued by the German Government.
The reference for this report at the National Archives is
NLF 1918 Wlist66.
Please go to the Home Page of the LF Web Site and click on the button " Postings Gallery " which will display all the battalions of the Lancashire Fusiliers. Once there click on 2/6th Battalion for further information.
I will leave you to digest the information above and perhaps come back to me if you have any further questions.
Kindest regards
Geoff Pycroft
