I was CSM of the combined HQ and Support Company at OSNABRUCK I did not go to BG Having been in the army for a while i thought it best to think about what to do with my life,I was married with four Sons, One was a Engineering Officer in THE ROYAL NAVY and another RSM in THE PARACHUTE Regt and two had their own companies to run.One is in BOLTON and another in THE LAKES
Many Fusiliers have paseed through my hands one was or another NS Men in 1/8th Battalion NS Group 52/08 in the 2nd Battalion at Bulford and Trieste then
"A" Company in Cyprus and in Osnabruck and my short stay with the 5th Battalion, so all told I served in 4 Battalion of THE LANCASHIRE FUSILIERS a Regt that I had never heard of until I arrived at KOHIMA I was born in LONDON but considered myself a Lancastrain There is no better Regiment and newcomers remember Gallipoli but should also think of those in the Chindits with Kitner and not forgetting men of the 10th Battalion who had the dirty smelly part of Burma with disease and flies
Just look after yourselves and take care
