Persephone gave a little chuckle. “Yes, I don’t think I would trade it for the leafy greens of Luthien,” she replied jokingly. “But a home is a home nonetheless, and special to those in it.” At the mention of trouble Persephone tilted her head, curious. She was intrigued by his comment about ungrateful mares, given what little information she had gleaned about him from his neighbour, but she was prepared to judge the situation herself, carefully and independently. “Anyone in particular? I hope they did not give you too much hassle.” At Cain’s question, then, Persephone gave a small sigh. The troubles in Luthien were a problem indeed. “That is a small part of the reason I am making this visit today, actually. Luthien is embroiled in a war with a stallion called Warsaw, who rules the Inlet. He has been harassing myself and my herd, and now my allies and our island as a whole, for years now. It will break into all-out war soon. I am trying to spread the word, to keep those who might get caught in the crossfire out of harms way, and to suss out those who might side with Warsaw, I’ll admit.” She paused a moment, judging the stallion’s reaction carefully. “I would caution you to keep your guard up, these are dangerous times.” |
