sent from the heavens above...

He loved to watch Galexia as she grew and developed. He knew it would be one thing he would miss the most. He wanted to see her grow into the beautiful strong mare he knew she would become some day. Solaris was a good mother, despite her wanderings, so Galexia had a good role model in her. At least she's got one worth counting on. He scowled at the voice and snorted. He was glad to see Solaris already growing rounder with the start of another young life in her. Something stalked at the back of his mind, giving him doubts, but he didn't want to believe that the child could be anyone's but his. She was his girlfriend, after all, right? He hated the distance suddenly being put between them but he wanted to believe that if she still wanted him, it wouldn't matter. They would make it work somehow.

She reached out to him with a nuzzle and he arched his head into it, rubbing his scent on her and inhaling hers at the same time. He could never get over her pretty smell. Like sunshine and daisies. He knew he needed to tell her though, sooner rather than later. So he just out and said it and she reacted as he thought she might. Which is to say all over the place. She immediately looked angry and he shifted back, his ears flattening as he glanced at Galexia, not wanting her to see this. She yelled at him for bringing Xiomara back and he parted his lips to speak but when she turned back to him, the tears in her eyes silenced him. He let out a soft sigh and did the only thing he could think of to do. He stepped toward her, bracing himself to retaliation even as he went to arch his neck around hers and pull her close, pushing his slender body against her trembling one.

"I'm sorry, Solaris." It's all he could think of to say. Then she started to talk about Rougaru, saying it was a mistake to come here. He couldn't help but think of the irony that he was going back to where they'd come from in the first place. When Galexia stepped toward him with questions in her eyes, Angel tried to put on a brave face. "It's going to be okay, sweetie. You're going to be strong for daddy, right?" But as Solaris got between them, pushing away Galexia's seeking muzzle, Angel felt a new emotion rise up. Anger. His eyes flashed before he let out his breath to try to calm down, but he stepped around Solaris and lowered his head to Galexia. "It's not good bye, sweetheart, just see ya later. Cause I'll never leave you. I just have to go somewhere, but I'll always find you."

He lifted his head, looking at Solaris. "Always." He said as a promise to her as well. He knew she was angry right now, probably an even mixture of him and Rougaru, but he wouldn't hold it against her. How could he? He cared about her, just as he cared about his daughter. He would always find them.
