Re(2): Geopolitics of Immigration.

Yes, the article states the case rather succinctly. It also seems to conclude that the US government, at least as represented by elected officials, lack the stomach to apply hard measures. I have long watched the continuing news stories of endless strife on the Israeli-Gaza border, and shrugged my shoulders. It seems to me that the only solution for Israel would be do use their army to drive the entire population of the so-called Gaza strip into the desert, seal the border with a wall, and shoot anyone who ventures to return. But that ain't going to happen. Not long ago, elements of Mexican armed forces have penetrated into US territory, and exchanged fire with US Border Patrol agents, but we have not retaliated by surrounding the intruders and either stripping them naked and flogging them back over the line, or penning them in barbed-wire enclosures without food or water until they beg to be returned to Mexico. Not one of our government leaders has the guts of Oliver Cromwell. Wouldn't it be instructive, if instead of separating children of illegal border-crossers from their families, if they were all put in cages together, and told that unless food and water were sent from Mexico, they would get none? Again, that won't happen here. But it would sure put a check to the flow. O baloney, I'm just venting.
