she had thought the commons would have been as good a place as any to start her search for petal but the warning in the strangers tone is clear. she was wrong to think danger didn’t lie before her just because she wasn’t looking for any. her fear of the sea, and its turbulence, melts a bit when she focuses on him. she had never actually been in such close proximity to a stallion she wasn’t related to. for a moment she found herself strangely considerate of his scent, the handsome arch of his neck and his proud posture. another second passed and she grew embarrassed at these thoughts and looked away again…

she takes note of where he states she has ended up.. clearly nowhere near her intended target… she is not ready to venture back out into the dark water but she can detect no trace of her mothers scent in the humid jungle air. bjorn… she rolls the name over in her mind… it is as unfamiliar to her as everything else. she finds his curiosity about her somewhat unnerving.. usually it is her sister who answers all the questions… she is solely responsible now. there is also something in the way he asks that suggests it is not just she who he is curious about. luthien. my grandfather rules the prairie… and i seek my mother. she doesn’t digress into detail. she is slightly embarrassed to even admit she searches for her mother… not wishing to seem so immature.. but she doesn’t think to lie.

she wonders at what to do next… she cannot end her quest here and head back to luthien but bjorn clearly doesn’t think she should go to the common.. his words echo in her mind.. it isn’t a safe place… she shivers again, hoping her mother hasn’t run into any trouble. she left in haste… i’m not sure where to look. she lets her words fall into the air… spoken more to herself than to him…. she knows part of this journey was to satisfy her own thirst for exploration but she truly knows then that she may be in over her head…
