The appearance of another stallion has, it seems, set Keen on edge. Her shadow circles the small gathering, and her watchful gaze carefully monitors the situation. Kestral, however, is not afraid. He rarely ever is. There may come a day when this spells the end of him, but perhaps this is what makes his and Keen's partnership so essential. She does what he does not.

Kestal's body language is nonchalant. He listens to the colt's curious observation of their color with a kindness in his eye. He smiles warmly, and the smile the remains, as the conversation moves within the group.

He is glad to see Vasilisa maintains the same fiery attitude she always has. She wears her pride upon her sleeve, and is never afraid to speak her mind. Kestral has always admired her for such. It is unfortunate for this stallion though, who tries to harness the flame. Some mares are not easy to contain. Vasilisa wasn't a problem for Kestral, simply because he never tried to tame her.

Kestral lives his life in a different way than most. He claims nothing or no one. He drifts through life like a dandelion seed on the breeze. A friend or lover alike can prefer him and stick by him, or take their leave. He will never resent someone for moving on. He appreciates any company he has, while he has it, and that is all.

The leopard stallion's faraway gaze meets Rougaru's and he answers as honestly as he can. "Home is a feeling I carry with me wherever I go.", he begins, but he knows this isn't the answer Rougaru seeks, so he continues. "No, I have no mares of my own, nor a particular place I call home." He says this matter-of-factly. There is no hint of shame or disappointment in his voice or in his expression, just the same lingering smile. This is simply a fact, and Kestral has no desire to change the status quo.

Once again, he falls quiet, letting Nampeyo and Rougaru discuss what they came here to discuss. Kestral's ears turn in rapt attention. There is much to be learned from this brief exchange, and Kestral is content just to listen.
