All the stress built up inside him just washes away at her touch. Her words cleanse his mind and her touch soothes his soul. He misses her and she misses him. That had to mean something, right? But reality was he no longer had no rights to her. He lost Tavas to this new stallion in Warsaw's life. He watches her with worry as she explains what happened with her ankle. He nods muttering, "I'm sorry" as she mentions she was just trying to get away from Bjorn. He feels it was all his fault. "If only I was stronger." He whispers.
Tavas warns he should go because Bjorn would find them soon. Requiem knows the risk of coming here, but he had to let Tavas know what has happened back home. She had to understand he wouldn't abandon her. He felt the air grow incredibly tense before Bjorn even emerged behind the bushes. He hears the sound of cracking branches and leaves being crushed beneath the pony's hooves. Ears quickly pin back as they fill with the stallion's scream. Requiem turns to face the stallion leaping towards him, but everything happened too quickly.
Bjorn slams into him, knocking him back as unknown words leave his dark lips. Requiem cries out as teeth bite at his flesh. Requiem quickly steps backwards until the voice of Tavas seem to lift above the violence. She...was defending him. Requiem watches in disbelief as Tavas snaps at Bjorn and tries to reason with him. I took some time for her words to set in, but with a shake of his head he agrees. "I was just telling her what has happened to Tinuvel! He shouts, a bit louder than he had expected to.
Heavy breathes distract him from the pain of his wounded shoulder that now swelled and the small brusies appearing along his chest. His ears stay pinned, but he manages to speak normally as his breathing gets under control. "Warsaw's Kingdom has fallen. The Bay is no longer mine and the Inlet had been taken over by a mare who defeated Warsaw in battle." He would like to bite go tongue and not tell this stallion anything, but for Tavas's sake he would make this meeting seem like it had purpose beyond just seeing each other. |
