The mare looked lost in thought so he was careful not mask his approach so she would know there was another and not get spooked. The snow was good about muffling his steps but at least with big hooves, he could always find a stick or something to step on. The mare was smaller than most he'd seen around the islands, but she looked sturdy and calm of mind. Maybe she was just what he needed to balance out the overall mood of his herd. He didn't know anything about her mind yet but he would soon enough. He didn't see the usual ears falling back and nostrils flaring like most of his greetings so when she started to speak, he pricked his ears and extended his muzzle in greeting, hope spurring to life in his chest that maybe he'd get to invite this mare kindly to his herd like he didn't get to do with Leonid.

Stupid Rougaru. The mare started to say something and then stopped, her voice trailing off. Cain's ears flicked back in puzzlement but he held his tongue and waited for her to continue. Instead she gave her name as Zubeia and he nodded in acknowledgement. "Pleasure, Zubeia. What brings you to the Common? If shelter and a herd are what you're looking for, I've got both, though I can't tell you it's every girl's dream land." His lips twitched in humor as he waited for her response. He didn't know how to sell his herd, per say. This whole being friendly thing was going to be a learning experience for him as well.
