Her ears flicked back as Vasilisa told her that she knew it wasn't her decision but that it should be. She scowled. Sure, as queen, she knew technically she was equal to Rougaru, but there was still a fine line there. Rougaru had been the one to decide she was queen, after all, and she wouldn't forget that. She didn't challenge or demand it. She just played her part and he rewarded her for it. She wouldn't argue against it, but she wouldn't take advantage of it either. Monster could see she wasn't getting anywhere with the black mare. She spoke as if she knew what Rougaru was thinking and Monster knew even she didn't know what he was thinking most of the time. She would never presume. Monster tried to get the bigger mare to open her mind a little but she could see it wasn't happening. Lissa only told her how she challenged Rougaru and that he knew where she stood. Monster tilted her head. "Maybe it's not just about respect, Vasilisa. I respect Rougaru but more than that, I care about him." That felt weird to say, but it wasn't a totally unpleasant feeling. "How have you nurtured your relationship with him? You've challenged him at every step and demanded of him. How have you shown mutual respect? Cause all I'm hearing is how you've treated him like a rival stallion would. How can he give you anything in return when all you've given him lately is disrespect?" She didn't know how the other mare would take her words but she was trying to be honest. Brutally honest, yes, but honest, none the less. She listened to the rest of what Vasilisa had to say and sighed. "Yes, I suppose so. I want to see you happy and at peace, Vasilisa. Really, I do. I just hope you figure out how to offer what you seek in return." She reached out to offer a gentle nudge of her muzzle to the other mare's shoulder, her show of respect and affection before she turned back to pawing at the snow for grass. She didn't know what else they could really say on the subject since it only seemed to be getting Vasilisa worked up and that was not at all her intent.
