She could feel the stallion trotting beside her relaxing further as they got more around the island. She had never had so muh fun with other horses as she was now that she was back home in Paradise. She even had less of a reason to leave and make trouble in the free lands. Of course, that was less likely until this kid was out of her. Swimming was difficult while pregnant. She found that out the hard way. Even though her allegiance was to Rougaru, it was nice to have another stallion around. All the estrogen could be overwhelming at times. Plus he seemed like a pretty laid back guy. She could get used to that. Her gaze flitted to the red and white stallion as they moved along, noting the way he looked around in fascination. He seemed to like it here in Paradise. When he said that he was afraid their talk was an interrogation, she laughed lightly and shook her head. "I'm only bad cop when I need to be, Gnome. I'm more curious than anything." The grullo paint couldn't help but smirk as he actually winked back at her. Not many did that. He seemed to have humor, which was nice. When she told him her thoughts on fighting, he seemed almost surprised. Finally he said that he could see her point and that he wasn't around many battles growing up. She gave him a twinkling look. "I can blame a strong mother for that. She earned the respect of the stallions of the herd as well as the mares through her battle prowess and her charisma.She knew when to use her charms and when to use her teeth." When it came to Rougaru, she pricked an ear toward him, listening attentively as he agreed that he could see her lead stallion's perspective of his expectations, and that he wouldn't hesitate to fight if the herd was threatened. She nodded when he finished. "I can respect that and I bet if you put it to him like that, he could, too. Defending the herd is just as important as fighting in the war, if not, more so. I'm sure he'd be proud to have someone like you in his corner." There was no sarcasm in her tone even as she gave him a knowing smirk. When she asked after his ambitions, she could see he was surprised by the question. She gave him time to think it over before he said he wanted to go with the flow for right now. She wasn't sure he was being entirely honest, especially with the way he hesitated on his next words, but she was willing to go along with it. After all, she couldn't force information out of him. She nodded in acknowledgement. "Well, I hope that works out for you. If there's anything I can do to help with that, let me know." Then the stallion tossed his head and asked who else lives on the isle. She tilted her head for a moment, thoughtful, before she gave a soft snort. "Do you mean in this herd or on this island? As far as the herd, besides the ones you've met, there's Zjeena, Calypso, and Celestria. At least that's the ones that have come to the last herd meeting. Vasilisa is gone but I believe her son, Noctis, still lives here. And Beowulf, Rougaru's other son. As the other herds on the island, there's a stallion on the Ridge, I believe his name is Bjorn. The other territory, the Shore, is now owned by a stallion called Nicholas. He came to try to secure an alliance with Rougaru already." She waited to see if that answered his question before she glanced around. Hm, what to ask next for her turn? "Do you have any regrets?" She was careful not ask what they are. His guards were still up a little and she didn't want to push him to be more open. She wanted him to want to open up a little, so he could just answer with a yes or no for now and she would be satisfied. Would he be completely guarded and tell her no just to mark the question as off limits or would he at least be transparent enough to admit that yes, he had regrets in his life? She was intrigued to read more into him.
