So many seasons had come and gone, a peace had seemed to settle on the land. Perhaps that would be set to change, in due time. After all, the winds seemed to be stirring this crisp spring day. She had several litters and while she loved her children dearly the wolf she felt might take her place one day was her daughter, Menkhet. Sekhmet called the girl to her side and she swiftly arrived with the silence most felines would envy. While Menkhet's normal chatter would bring a grimace to her maw, today the young fem seemed silent as though something weighed on her mind.
Pressing forward slowly Sekhmet led her daughter to the den her mother, Enya, and her father shared. Enya laid outside basking in the spring air blinking softly before meeting her gaze. Sekhmet dipped her head slightly and settled a few feet away from the fem before calling out to her father as well as extending the invitation to her mother. Enya settled just off to the entrance of the den seeming as though she was eagerly waiting for her mate, the echo of howl added to her own reaffirmed this. Sekhmet understood though, mate bonds were quite a special thing, perhaps even more so than imprinting that seemed to plague the land.
Turning to look at her daughter for a moment Sekhmet lifted her head slightly with a hint of pride as she waited.
