Hello world, he was here! Akello woke with a start, eyes wide and ready to explore the world. Snorting to clear his nostrils of dust and left over fluid, he tossed his head and glanced over at his mother. She still seemed to be resting. How boring! It didn't take him long to put his long legs benath him and push up, though he had to do it a couple times before he was able to steady himself. This whole standing thing wasn't always so easy but he was getting better at it. Finally, he stood proudly on all four hooves and straightened up, looking around. Where should he go? His ears pricked and his little tail swished at his flanks, nostrils flaring as he tasted the Desert air. Pawing at the sand pulling on his little legs, he snorted again and moved forward. The sand continued to pull on him, making it harder to move forward but he wouldn't be held back! Tossing his head, he jumped forward, only to trip and roll to the ground.

With nothing more hurt than his pride, the little colt shook his head, sending sand flying before he gave it another shot. It didn't take him as long to get to his hooves this time and he stomped the sand in victory. Take that! Then he took off at a more determined trot this time, heading further into the herd lands. Who would he find? What would he get into? He was open to anything!
