Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Her confidence brings about an unexpected sense of relief, as well as further wonderment in regards to her own experiences. He had not been so fortunate as she, to know that there would be an end to the beginning. This time, instead of keeping the majority of his experience in the background, he allows himself to delve further. I never thought to live again; that it was even a possibility. There was nothing else for me to know but what I thought was the end. There’s a wistful aspect to his tenor tones, however her previous words stay with him and give him an easy distraction. A memory of his first life attaches to the moment, and he ponders on his remembrance of feelings toward his Mother, and then his Father. As a child, he had seen Achlys and Eden as immortal, and in some way they had retained that aspect of themselves within his mind for all this time. It suddenly made sense to him on why he had felt such a familiar notion at her words regarding the heavens and her past. There was physical proof of his own that matched the honest truth of her words, and with a slight nod of his skull he revisits the topic with interest. Do you find it probable that other immortals are also immersed in this dance?

Common beliefs were not something Eros knew, and so while it was new it also felt natural as his thoughts fell neatly into place with one another. It also felt natural to him as he watched her move further into the flowers and shake herself off as the rain came to a near stop. She looked slightly different than the soaked version of herself, the auburn of her coat more obvious as it stood out against the contrasting inky black. He felt hyperaware of his senses as he watched the water droplets fly wildly, and there was no social trigger in him to warrant a reason for averting his eyes. In fact, after his companion had finished her movement, he’s moving toward her about the same time she’s beckoning him with a nod and then offering her name. Ren. For Renja. The smirk accompanied with her words brought that same sense of relief he had begun to feel familiar with. He considers her for a moment, finding that her entire name suited her best, though he felt a rather peculiar sense of pride at having earned something from her. Ren it is, then. He tests it out and even though he still thought Renja suited her best, he liked the ease at which her given name came from him.

Although they had not begun their encounter with introductions, it now felt in place for the flow of their conversation. After an entirely exhilarating river crossing in the pouring rain and a short jaunt through the wood, the quiet meadow suited the atmosphere that blanketed them. There was an underlying ease to be felt in the area as well as among the air between the two of them, and regardless of the spike in adrenaline they had started out with, it now flowed easily into a steady peace. Such was how he currently felt, at the very least, and though he could not speak for her, he silently hoped that she might also gain some sense for the better from their encounter. Unwilling now to let the silence or their collective sorrowful pasts envelop either of them, he asks his next question as he makes himself comfortable beside her. Do you know what it is you’d like of this life, Ren? A deep curiosity accompanies his words, and his eyes follow suit in that manner as they search her features for her answer, looking forward to not only hearing the truth in her words but also the passion upon her face.

She was a good teacher, even if she did not know it, and he was more than eager to listen to all she had to share, and then some. Do you know where it is you'd like to go? He meant literally, as well as figuratively, and all the places in between. It would never once dawn on him that perhaps his questions were coming across as insistent and straight forward, but it wasn't who he truly was to be any other way.
