Many thanks for the names. It would be helpful if you would identify each individual as they appear on the ORBAT ie....which company etc. One of our great difficulties particularly with research is that apart from the Nominal Roll of 2 LF at Spion Kop there are no known Nominal Rolls of the LF Battalions, particularly none that can be researched on line. You will note that the 1968 ORBAT is a list of personnel known to have been on the LF Nominal Roll AS AT 23rd April 1968....' Vesting Day '.....the day the LF's ceased to be and became 4RRF. No known Nominal Roll for that date is actually known to exist and the 1968 ORBAT as shown on the Web Site was ' cobbled ' together by Joe and Colin Boutty from a variety of sources. Joe Eastwood had an extremely strict policy when compiling the list in that NO NEW NAME could be added to the ORBAT unless irrefutable evidence was provided that the individual concerned was ' on strength ' as at 23.4.68. Over the years a number of individuals' names were put forward for addition to the ORBAT but Joe refused to add them due to lack of corroborative evidence. That policy still stands. You can therefore be assured that if a name appears on the 1968 ORBAT the person named was in indeed a serving LF on 23.4.68.
