He lifted his head when the scent of a familiar stallion hit his nostrils. Shamwari. It was the stallion he met at the Falls, the red stallion who ruled the Prairie. He'd seemed like a level headed fellow and Cain could perhaps see him as an ally, especially now that he knew Shamwari was also Vihaan and Primrose's father. They had both named the stallion as their sire and Cain was only glad that he'd left the stallion on good terms the first and last time they'd met. Whether those good terms still existed would be yet to be seen though, since after his meeting with the stallion, Vihaan had gone to see her father and she wasn't exactly happy with Cain when that happened. Since then, he was happy to report that he was making amends with his mares and creating relationships.

Even Primrose was coming out of her shell and showing him a stronger side that he'd always known she had the potential for. He felt the Desert was changing the mares, making them resilient, making them the kind of mares he was proud to call his own. And now they were even happier to be here. He had three strong foals born in his herd, all three of his own blood, and he couldn't be more happy. Being a father left him feeling all giddy and full of emotion. He wanted to see his sons and daughter grow up to be independent and full of life and dreams. He wanted them to get everything they could ever want and more. And of course, as he now understood...he never wanted them to meet a stallion like he used to be. Not Paisley anyway. He was sure Akello and Legolas could handle themselves but he wanted Paisley only to be loved and cherished as the precious jewel she was.

The painted stallion waited to see if Shamwari's scent would come and go as if the stallion was swimming by his island, but when it only grew stronger, he straightened up and let his tail lift as a banner, ready to go meet the other in whatever kind of confrontation this may become. He was sure Shamwari was probably here because of his daughters, though whether it was just to meet his grandchildren or to demand his children's release, Cain had no way of knowing. He wanted everyone to be happy in this instance and if that meant giving them freedom, then he would do what needed to be done, but he hated the thought of losing them. Vihaan had become someting to him, something important and something he wished to keep close. Primrose was so precious, something meant to be protected, and he felt he was doing that. She had changed since being here and he felt they were even becoming something like friends since their first decent chat. He hated the idea of losing her either.

Sighing, he tossed his head and galloped across the sands as Shamwari's bugle rang out. His tangled mane whipped at his neck as he launched himself over the dunes, heading for the red silhouette. As he got closer, Cain dipped his head in greeting and slowed to a walk, stopping a few feet away from Shamwari as he took the other in with curiosity. "Shamwari, welcome to the Desert. How can I help you?"
