Moladian had gone through many changes since she took over in Iromar. It grew quiet for most of the year but recently she'd noticed some activity picking up in the free lands and other packs. Her tail wagged as she thought about all the possibilities this could bring. Possibly more allies, more recruits to the pack. Already Ruby had brought a mother and daughter pair, Hepzibah and Sorath, home to Iromar and that could only be the beginning. Avery saw other wolves lurking in the swamp lands that she didn't remember meeting and she wanted to bring that to an end. She didn't mind wolves calling Iromar their home but it only made sense that she knew they were there. They were under her protection as pack members, after all. So she decided to hold an impromptu pack meeting just so she could put names to faces and so forth. It was time to update the ranks and learn who was still around.

She thought of her seer, Beltane, and grimaced, hoping her friend was still around. They hadn't spoken in a while but still felt like Beltane's presence was in the swamp lands, even when Avery couldn't see her. Maybe she was so much a part of Iromar that it still sang of her even when she wasn't around. Or maybe Avery just missed speaking with her. She felt like she still had so much to learn from the seer. Avery knew she was getting up in age and maybe she wouldn't be able to hold this position much longer. She wasn't old and crippled by any means, and she would still put up a fight if someone dared to challenge for her beloved home, but it was only a matter of time before someone else stepped forward, someone younger and more ambitious. Avery could only hope that it was someone worthy. She had hoped to hold out until her own children were grown enough that one of them might want to take over. They were still young and growing but showing such promise.

She wasn't just going to hand it over, however. She wasn't that type of alpha. No, she wanted them to prove their mettle along with any other pack member who wanted the right. She would watch them step forward and fight for the right to rule Iromar. It seemed only fair in her opinion. But today wasn't that day. Peace still ruled the swamps, despite the bloody tale Hepzibah came back with. Avery's hackles trembled at the idea of Angels killing Demons once again. Those stories were in the past, as were those grudges, or so she was led to believe. Hepzibah and her daughter were now under Avery's protection and she would die for them if necessary, as she would any member of her pack. Finding a good dry hammock near the center of the swamp lands, Avery threw her head up, letting out a long loud howl to call her members to her. Her tail waving at her ankles, she waited to see who would reveal themselves.
