When the thundering hooves of another stallion reached his ears, Angel drew back if only to stand more next to Galexia than behind her, making himself more of a barrier to the new stallion as he came toward them. As the blue roan got closer, Angel could smell the Lagoon on his skin and his nostrils flared in understanding. He could also smell Solaris on the stallion and his chest constricted with confusing emotions. This must be Raider. The stallion called out to him to step away and Angel hesitated, one ear flicking to Galexia. The stallion moved to stand over the newer filly and Angel felt torn. He remembered well Solaris' words to him and he found himself looking over the stallion's shoulder for her beautiful figure. As long as she was around to care for the girls, Angel could breathe easier. Otherwise, he wasn't sure he wanted this stallion anywhere near HIS daughter, especially after what Solaris told him. What are you going to do about it? You're a pussy and he's a real stallion. You'll only get yourself killed. Galexia seemed restless, like she wanted to go anywhere but here and Angel fought himself not to nudge her along and run now. He couldn't just leave the younger filly under this stallion's care and yet he didn't have anywhere to take Galexia for now, either. He didn't really feel like a part of the Inlet, so he'd probably have to look for a new herd soon. He wasn't the homeless type. Even though he was off-putting and didn't make friends easily, he still felt more secure surrounded by others. When he'd asked Galexia about the new filly, Galexia could only tell him that she was trying to save her and she couldn't leave her behind. Angel's eyes had softened despite his try to scold his daughter, knowing that her heart was good like her mother's and she was trying to do what she felt was right. He gave a gentle sigh. "She still needs to be with her mother. I know you want to save her, but your mother would have to be willing, as well. She's too young to be without her." He tried to explain as calmly as he could. His concern only heightened as Galexia told him that Solaris didn't know they were here and she didn't even know the filly's name. He glanced again the younger female, wishing he knew a name to call her by. She really was a pretty little thing. When Raider approached, Angel snorted in disapproval as Galexia moved between him and the other stallion. He knew she was trying to protect him but he would never forgive himself if she got hurt over him. He listened as she yelled at the stallion, saying it wasn't his fault and he had nothing to do with it. He had a feeling the stallion didn't care either way whose fault it was. He had that possessive look in his eyes and Angel didn't like it one bit. He was about to step forward to protect Galexia again when the sight of Solaris approaching stopped him in his tracks. He straightened and held his breath as she came closer, his ears pricking to watch as she approached the new filly first to check on her. The filly seemed to recognize her immediately and started to nurse and that's when Solaris suddenly vyed for the stallion's attention, telling him they should just go. Angel tensed again, ready to jump to their defense if necessary but he caught the worry in Solaris' eyes as they landed on him for just a moment. In that moment, he saw her pleading with him not to intervene, perhaps worried that the children would end up in the middle of it. If only for that reason, Angel gave a deep exhale and took a step back, his ears pinning in dismay even as he nudged Galexia's flanks. "Go with your mother, Galexia. We will see each other again." He couldn't tell her when, but determination flared in his eyes as he watched them leave. He wouldn't rest until his daughter was free of the Lagoon.
