Things were changing in Taviora and he wasn't sure how he felt about it. His distant cousin Zelda was stepping down and handing the pack off to a sister but he didn't really know her or anything about her. His father assured him that everything would be okay and nothing would really change but Mochi didn't have the same faith. Zelda was leaving and so was his brother. Plus his grandfather was gone. He still couldn't really believe it. When his father took him into the den and told him, Mochi couldn't believe what he was saying. But when he saw the tears slipping down Dexter's face, then he understood, cause he'd never seen his father cry before. His brother Niyol was there when his grandfather was murdered and apparently Niyol didn't want to be here in Moladian anymore. He was leaving with their cousin Orifel to get training or something. Mochi didn't understand how his parents were okay with that but they seemed to be.
But what about him? He suddenly felt like an outsider with his own family. Seeking some kind of comfort, he headed over the borders of Taviora and toward the only other place where he felt a sense of belonging. Maybe he hadn't officially been inside Asteraia a lot, but he knew the girl who ran those fields and he needed to see her. Surely she could cheer him up and maybe help him understand what was going on. A part of him couldn't help but wonder if he would see Bastet too. There was a weird draw to her still, some part of him that wanted to protect her and never see her come to harm. But mostly he wanted to see Menkhet. She was his best friend, his distraction, his solace. When he got to the borders of the fields, he let out a howl, hoping she would hear him and come. His tail was already wagging as he waited to see her.
