The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

It was a relief to see Lucia becoming happier! Ella had noticed her shyness, but she'd noticed the girl waving her tail too and that was a good sign in Ella's eyes. Ella wasn't entirely sure what made Lucia so shy, but she was glad it didn't seem to be the kind of shyness that came from discomfort. More often than not, Ella was like a bison, ploughing through the fields of social tact with complete disregard. So, she must have been doing something right if Lucia was loosening up a bit! Oh, she was so going to rub it in Morgan's face. He always told her to hold back just a little more, but Ella didn't think that was so important and now she had proof.

It surprised Ella, though, that Lucia did not pry. Lucia's face showed her inner thoughts fairly openly, yet she didn't follow up on them. It fascinated Ella and she could not help but tilt her head in awe, amazed that somebody could hold their own curiosity back like that. Ultimately though, Ella wouldn't press it either. She was more interested in Lucia's story than as to why the girl hadn't been prying into Ella's own tale. Besides, she had a feeling they'd have plenty more time to discuss those kinds of details in the future.

When they got to talking about Lucia's history, she seemed shy again. Ella shook her head and furrowed her brows. "Well, I think that's just awesome, y'know. Ya' probably know so much about all these free lands, more than just any ol' pack-wolf," she retorted to Lucia's shyness, because there was no way she was going to let somebody be shy or ashamed just because they hadn't been born into some pack or something like that. She gave a huff and a smirk at the thought, agreeing silently with Lucia's mother in that regard. Ella hadn't exactly been raised with the best view of packs, either.

"Why dontcha' show me 'round here a bit, Lucia? I barely know a thing 'bout this place," she said with a grin and a flick of her muzzle towards the grotto itself. Ella was, for all intents and purposes, buying time away from their fathers, but she also wanted to make Lucia feel a little more confident in her abilities and knowledge. If they were going to be roommates, Ella wanted her to really shine. "I'm sure our fathers can wait a while longer, 'ey?" She used Lucia's term and wiggled her brows, hoping she'd agree to a little tour...if just for a little while, at least. Ella wanted to learn more about her, and what better way to get her to open up than to let her take the lead a little/

ella
