Even though Kalona did not need his mother for nourishment he was just a yearling and normally would still be with his mother but she wouldn't permit him to go with them saying the Dunes needed him as the rightful prince he had to remain behind and try to help figure out the problem of freeing their queen. Course he didn't know Bahadir enough to judge him yet. He listens to Bjorn feeling much more closer to Bjorn then he probably ever would with Bahadir.why did you have to leave?
