Whip-o-will is a goatsucker which feeds on flying insects and will not be back in our area until usually the second week of May. However, there have been very early reports during the first week of May at Point Pelee on rare occasions. Northern Mockingbird can make a great whip-o-will call as can a few other birds in that mimic family. Could you give me more details of this report. I suspect that it was heard only.
