Hairy woodpecker

Have an evolving smart woodpecker. It used to extract and drop unshelled black oil sunflower seeds until it found one already shelled. Did a good job feeding the squirrels but not very productive for it.
Evolutionary behaviour has taught this bird to pick a complete seed and fly it to a tree with a predrilled �pecker hole, insert the seed to the hole, pecker it apart and feed on the seed.
Been feeding winter birds for 40+ years and this is a first.
Where�s Dan Risken when I need him?
