Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

the vast unknown awaits for us to see
something so deeply hidden, yet open before our eyes

Auri had spent most of the day dozing beneath the shady branches of an oak tree. It is only after father sun begins to disappear below the horizon for the night that she feel it is safe to venture out into the open. Her stomach is empty and starts to rumble in protest. She had forgotten the last time she had sunk her teeth into a decent meal. With her nose close to the ground she trots onwards in search of food.

The dainty she-wolf soon finds herself in a vast sea of golden grass. She can smell the scent of rabbit clinging to the blades and running between the tussocks. Her mouth begins to salivate and she runs her tongue across her lips. It doesn't take long to locate an entrance to a warren and Auri settles herself down wind so that her scent could not give her position away. And now she plays the waiting game.

By the time the rabbits emerge from the hole, father sun and his light was completely gone from the world today and the endless ones had started to twinkle in the night sky above. Auri bunches her muscles beneath her cream-brown fur and prepares to take chase. She selects a target, one of this years youngsters judging by the size, who has been naive enough to wander away from the other's. Auri notes how she is now between the rabbit and it's home, she knows that this is her opportune moment. Bursting through the long stems of grass she lops forward on long and quick strides. In an instant the rabbit turns and starts to dart away for it's life. Auri is hoping that she can catch before it disappears down another hole.
