PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

send me reeling

i’m on fire, again
Keen indeed. Rhadra feels she will be more observant of the skies from this point forward. She tucks in her chin shyly at Kestral’s bow, but accepts his invitation to eat gladly, aware only after he’s reminded her of grazing that the sun is well risen and her body clamoring for nourishment.

As they eat together she is better able to ignore the uncomfortable thrum of anticipation that shudders occasionally through her. It has been a long journey for her from the mainland to this Someplace, with quite a bit of physical exertion and, she chuffs in quiet amusement, no little mental stimulation as well. Given all that excitement, combined with both too little and poor sleep (who sleeps well all on their own, far from the familiarities of home, in a strange place with stranger horses and no safety to fall back on should things get real tough?), Rhadra’s stamina is woefully depleted. No wonder she feels plagued by uncertainty and apprehension.

Grazing helps, as does continuing to spend time in the peaceful company of Kestral (and his ever-present shadow, Keen). Rhadra does not rush her meal but neither does she linger, and once she’s eaten her fill she raises her head and reaches out to brush her muzzle lightly against the stallion’s spotted shoulder. “Thank you, Kestral. Be well.” With a small smile Rhadra turns and takes her leave of him, slipping into an energetic trot that carries her across the meadow and away from the prominent mountain range and its guardian. They will certainly meet again, a thought that sustains her smile, but until then— sleep.

Rhadra
