She was in shock at the happenings around her. She spots Tigerlily's stale responce, but she doesn't think much of it because her body felt so numb. She had tried her best to help Elvira, a mare she found to be a friend. Besides Tavas, Elvira was one of the only mares she felt comfortable with. She thought herself and Tigerlily could get there, but they haven't had the time to chat. Now, her friend has gone into danger and it was even possible she could meet death on the island of Luthien. Ysabel was worried for the draft and for her child who was left here all alone. It wasn't until the little filly speaks does Ysabel react. Her head jerks up suddenly at the high pitched voice of the girl, but her words tug strongly at her heart.
"Shhh." She coos soflty, reaching down to nuzzle the girl. Her heart sinks as the filly mentions Elvria saying she was going to get her grandma. She knew exactly what that meant from the recent converstation about Rowena. "I'm sorry. I should have tried harder to comfort your mother." If she had given the mare better advice...Ysabel had told her she needed to seek her mother out and speak with her. What a mistake that was! Her head pops up when she hears someone stepping near their group. Blue eyes meet the form of Bjorn's heir, his son with Nyimara. It was a bit hard to have Askold jiped of a spot he deserved, but Ysabel also understood the order their children were born and the connection Bjorn shares with the nasty silver haired mare.
This was not the time for that. She was about to suggest Elerona go play with the colt, but Tigerlily's voice catches her full attention. Ysabel gasps as her answer, shaking her head. "No, Tigerlily please..." She begs the mare to stay put where it was safe. There was no stopping the mare as she pushes Elerona her way. Ysabel would gladly protect the foals and do her lead mare duty in ensuring the safety of the children. But she was also supposed to make sure the mares were safe...something Tigerlily said caused her heart to sink. It doesn't matter what happens to me anyway. Before she could say anything more, the mare was off.
Ysabel makes one last cry of protest to the buckskin, but she doesn't answer. The palomino stands and watches in awe as Tigerlily dissapears from her sight and she is left with the foals. There was nothing more she could do so Ysabel calls to her own children who she left hidden in the jungle to come forth. Isabel and Askold aproach the other two foals with happiness on their faces. Ysabel hopes this could at least be a way for the foals of the Ridge to bond. Create something good out of this terrible situation.
