He didn't ask for anyone's pity and that was the last thing he wanted so he was hesitant when he looked into Vihaan's eyes and saw emotion there. He didn't want her to feel sorry for him. He felt he'd come out stronger because of his past, but it just meant he had a rocky start to get to where he was now. Thanks to Vihaan, Geneva, Primrose, and firey Harlequin, his first mares, they had changed him into the stallion he was today. He could practically see her heart breaking for him and he snorted, looking away cause he didn't want to see pity in her fierce gaze. He didn't want to be seen as weak. She careful in walking around Akello to come to him and he allowed her to be close, closing his eyes to let her scent wash around him, drawing strength from it. As she moved to brush his cheek, he groaned softly, leaning into the touch, a new sensation washing over him.

Nuzzles and gentle caresses were still so foreign to him. Just as Geneva had to teach him how to groom others and be groomed, it was all a learning experience for him. Kind touch was not something he learned before coming here. She started to speak and slowly he opened his eyes, dark brown meeting her own gaze as she apologized. A rattling snort left his nostrils as he shook his head. "Do not apologize for the misdoings of others, Vihaan. They are beneath you and do not dserve the grace of your words." He knew they'd had two very different upbringings but in a way, he felt that drew them that much closer. She was loved by both her parents and it taught her to be strong and fierce in a way he didn't know how. At least not yet. He drew his own strength from a lifetime of being alone, of having to fight to survive every day.

As her muzzle pressed to his skin, he shivered with ecstacy and lowered his head, a sigh of contentment falling from his lips. Lazily, he reached over to lip at her mane teasingly. One ear flicked to hear her words, saying she didn't want him to feel that way ever again. A wry smirk pulled at his lips. "No guarantees. You can't protect me from everything, though I appreciate the thought." He assured her gently. She asked what he wanted to feel and he drew back for a moment to think, tilting his big head. "Anything good," was his final answer. All he ever knew was pain and evil. What it must be to feel something good for a change? She said she wanted him to feel safe and he smirked again. "I want the same for you." Then she said that he was someone important to her and his smirk gentled into a more precious smile. "As have you, Vihaan. You are precious to me." His diamond in the Desert, she stood out like a sore thumb.
