Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

am I a monster when I sink my teeth into her?

By all means, she had every right to be suspicious of what he had said. In retrospect, he could understand the look she gave him: doing whatever he wanted didn't sound like an honorable cause, or a very respectable creed. It had likely been uttered by all kinds of wolves, after all, wretched and good alike. Just like her own response, really. I just am. He couldn't help but grin at that, almost a little proud that she had stood her ground. It was a good step forward, no? In that moment, she'd rejected him assigning an identity to her...But then again, he had likely started to over-think it. Elohim had a habit of that.

He had been over-thinking it all when she had suddenly moved towards him, and he braced himself, ready for the inevitable feeling of teeth on flesh. It was a small price to pay for her to at least let some of it out, but rather than teeth, he received words. He stayed quiet for a moment, then looked at her with his head tilted, equal parts curious and fascinated. She hadn't taken the opportunity, and even more surprising is that she had asked him a question that wasn't trying to find some weak point to jab into.

"Well, I'm often the one to make them mad, for starters." His voice was flat and dry, but his lips gave away the hint of humour in what he had said. He imagined it wouldn't be the answer she had been looking for, even though it was partly true. "And because if that's the only way they know how to express themselves, then I ought to let them do so," he quickly clarified, and then he leaned his shoulder forward once again, offering it with raised brows. It didn't seem like she'd take the offer, even if her anger had seemingly been...lessened, at least for a moment. "It's better you take a bite out of me rather than some stranger, or finding yourself lost or in a fight simply because you needed to find an outlet." Every dam broke eventually, after all. It was better to ease the river back to life rather than wait for it to burst its banks and sweep away everything in its path.

As for Natiya? Well, she still a lot of anger. Elohim couldn't blame her, of course. He had been intentional in his probing, deliberate with his words and his closeness. It was only natural that she'd continue to seethe - who could say how long she'd been on that island with it all bottled up?

But then she didn't lash out. Instead, she seemed to collapse inwards. Elohim felt a pang of guilt as she sat down, but he did not let it show. Well, not entirely. He could not stop his face from softening, and he exhaled slowly as he pulled up in front of her. This time, he kept a distance.

"Well, will you let me get you something other than fish, at least?" He had let a silence settle for a moment, and it felt almost wrong to break the silence at all. "Consider it an apology for being so suspicious. Pheasant, or rabbit?" He tilted his head, and tried to give her a more...friendly grin, one without his usual mischief. It was the least he could do. If Natiya had any kind of strength, he had to admit that it might have been being one of the first wolves to make him feel guilty.
