more on Win Bets, MC lower takeout rates, MC big jackpots Posted on March 11, 2020 at 10:43:41 AM by StraymarJA
I hadn't heard about that one, imagine it didn't last for long
I did notice low win odds very early in same game 1 that day, a $20 win bet on Spinner, which was very unusual and occurred before the $100 win
Now if someone would be making large bets and then cancelling them right before post, the ADW or fronton would put an end to that pretty quickly I'm sure. An ADW might even suspend someone's account in that event.
With win pools being so low at frontons these days, they are a very poor indication of the true overall spread of total wagering action on the player/teams. The big complaint I hear from bettors is the min bet discrepancy on WPS. Bets placed at Dania are min $1 for W,P,S while Dania contracts with ADW's insist on min $2 wagers for W,P,S (not a good practice IMO). That actually negatively impacts those pool sizes (not a large amount though, but the more people see wagered on WPS, the more the pool size grows, so a snow-balling effect to some degree).
Magic City is consistent and WPS bets are $1 in-house or through ADW.
We had heard Magic City was looking into lowering takeout wagers on bets too (a very interesting idea). They did already have a 20% takeout rate on Pick 3 and Pick 5 (lower than Dania 25% take on their Pick 3). Will be interesting to hear more about the new Magic City wager being discussed with an opportunity for a bigger jackpot than the Pick 5. Still don't understand why Dania killed their Pick 5. Surely they must have slot machines with opportunities for Big Jackpots in their casino? Replies:
