Siobhan's ears go back in concern for a moment before pricking forward again as the colt continues. It is not necessarily that she wants to encourage this behavior, for she doubts any mare (or stallion, really) in the future would appreciate these sorts of outbursts. But he was a foal. And a foal with some very hurt feelings and big emotions he was probably not prepared to deal with.

And sometimes, you just want to be heard.

As he continues, she sidles closer to Bjorn, letting the warmth of his skin and body rest against hers. His companionship was a balm to her heart, and she had every intention of using him for it in this particular moment. As Belikov compliments her, a wan smile ghosts across her lips. Thankfully, it was not something that Siobhan had ever been forced to contemplate. She'd neither been stolen nor had she been in a position to do any stealing herself. And while she'd like to think that she would prioritize family, there was a bottom line to consider.

If Bjorn had fought for Wren, and won, then he was the rightful winner. That was the risk one assumed when becoming a herd mare rather than a mare leading her own herd or a resident of the Peak. Hence why it was important, when possible, to choose a strong stallion that could defend you, should the need arise. The goal of a stallion was to gain mares and to keep them as a way to empower his herd. After all, the more horses one had at home, the better an equine's quality of life was likely to be.

More horses meant more eyes for danger. It also meant more foals for children to play with. A higher likelihood that you could find a friend among your herdmates. And so on.

And if there were not many mares in the Commons, then your options for gaining these additional mares were limited. Siobhan wasn't sure what other options there would be, other than to offer to trade for a different mare, but even that was something that had to be considered thoughtfully. After all, Liland could try to be underhanded and send a mare into Bjorn's herd that only wanted to sow doubt among the herd to turn them against the sabino.

Breaking from her thoughts, she listens to the way Bjorn attempts to reach out to the colt, pulling out something his own mother had taught him. She wasn't sure it would be enough to start building a bridge, but then again, she wasn't entirely sure that was Bjorn's intention.

"Perhaps you should have listened more," she teases playfully, bumping Bjorn's shoulder. Hopefully it will lighten the mood slightly. She returns her attention to the colt again, "I think there's something to be learned everywhere. Even if you don't agree with Bjorn's decision, there's always something to be learned and gained from life. Plus, who's not to say you can't go back home and learn from your father when you are a little older? I'm absolutely certain he loves you enough to allow you to go back home. Why not enjoy the one on one time with your mother now?"
