Lamia had lucked out significantly when Kaliban had approached her first upon her arrival. She technically did not belong here, not in any traditional sense at least. She had half-siblings and a father here. Hopefully that was enough. The chocolate hued girl was welcome, for now at least as a guest of her brother's, but she wondered how she might make her case to his mother. She expected she would be met with some level of distrust. Not that she could blame the Pharaoh. Who would trust the daughter of the one who tried to steal someone important away. And practically got away with it too!
Still, she was mindful of her wanderings across the plains. Lamia knew she would be observed sooner or later. At this rate, best not look like she was a threat. She had extended the olive branch then, and intended to keep it that way. Lamia was not Matianak. There was no denial of shared traits to her dam. It had taught her to be ever observant, to include Nyteshade's presence. That turn of events fascinated her greatly. She was not the sister he had arrived with, that much was certain by her own admission and Kaliban's statement to it. Yet, she wondered about it greatly. Which sister had it been? By scent alone, Lamia had a guess. That was an odd notion too. What would her cousin have to do with someone here?
In the end, it was irrelevant. What mattered was Lamia's continued presence in a place she actually wanted to be and would, hopefully, not be held to a standard of less than when in the presence of her littermate Randga. Here, there was none of that. There was family. Lamia agreed that family was important, but Matianak never specified which family. So, she had decided which family for herself. This family here in Asteraia, not that family there in Glorall. Even as the thought crossed her mind, a flash of movement out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. Someone had been at the very least watching, if not following. "I won't bite," she said. Not that it would matter. Hopefully it was enough.
The silent serpent of Glorall...
