Lamia gave a small shrug. She couldn't quite explain herself, only that her mother was quite adamant about keeping what was hers close. There was little more to add to that topic, especially as she watched Kaliban's reaction to Nyteshade's presence. A small play for power, even as her cousin placed himself quite close to her own form.
If there was one thing the chocolate coated girl had learned from Matianak, it was to show how little things bothered you, regardless of how much it did. All the same, her mother was not here, and now was as good a time as any to set her boundaries. Cousins they were, but she preferred others stay out of her personal space. He may have not cared about personal space, but she did. As a result, she rose and moved closer to Kaliban, but still maintained a respectable space. Her ears twitched at her brother's statement. Not the sister who brought him here? She looked quizzically towards the darker male. Who had brought her cousin here? This was interesting. Lamia could only speculate at this rate.
She was silent for a time. The talk of being kin or not hashed out between the boys. The two males may not have been kin, but she was kin to them both. "I do believe we can all agree to that question," Lamia finally piped up. A calculated point. Lamia knew why she was here. The family she was trying to choose was here, even if she was partly born to it.
A soft hmm... escaped her. She was thoughtful to Nyteshade's words. Rather, the simpleness of the answer. It's true. Of that she did not doubt, but Matianak was also quite capable of twisting words to make truth sound false and a falsehood true. Still, she nodded, her way to accepting her cousin's response. As to Kaliban's question, "Someone, or something. Both would be most accurate," she replied. Her tone was only somewhat cryptic, but that was primarily because of her cousin's presence. Lamia did not care to have someone be able to get to her mother about why she was in Asteraia before Matianak realized she was even gone.
