Re(3): Government Payouts to Unemployed individuals During Coronavirus Crisis Posted on 3/20/2020 at 19:43:20 by Bill Crawford, (14)
Linked below is an article about the GOP Coronavirus one-time Individual Payout Plan; this, in addition to the increased unemployment benefits.
I personally think that making a one-time payout of $2,400 to every couple making less that $150,000 is a bit of an overkill, particularly for retired couples.
As I read it, the $150,000 figure is taken from their joint annual incomes, as reported on their 2018 tax returns.
I don't think that most retired couples feel the full impact of the Coronavirus crisis; i.e., their incomes are mostly fixed, and most probably don't go out of their houses very much, anyway.
During the Coronavirus crisis, our daughter Sal is our only contact with the outside world.
P.S. I might have overstated my point about the Individual Payout being an overkill for retirees;
this, because the Coronavirus crisis has essentially no effect on Mary and me.
