Siobhan watches the mare cautiously, still unsure if she was to be trusted. She seemed like she belonged here, and from this distance she can smell Bjorn over her. This last fact gives her mixed feelings, although she does not want to acknowledge why. Siobhan has no claim to the grullo stallion and it wouldn't be fair for her to ask more of him, especially not now with the evidence of her failure all around.

The herd was broken, and she was to blame.

Her ears lean back slightly as she feels the pain of her own shortcomings again, but the other mare leaves her little time to dwell. The words spill from the girl's charcoal lips and Siobhan has no choice but to listen to her blame herself. The admissions come fast, hard and passionate and they force the puzzle piece's she's been avoiding into their appropriate placces. The reason why Bjorn hadn't been around. Who the large brute had been and his connection to the herd.

Anger boils in her for a moment, but the weight of the situation smothers it. Ultimately, did it really matter if she was at fault? Siobhan was just as guilty. She'd stood, frozen and afraid as the stallions had made off with the children.

The memory of their terrified faces breaks her heart anew and she struggles to clear her throat of the emotion that clogs it.

"No one is perfect." She murmurs the words aloud, flicking her tail listlessly against her hocks. "We all played our part in what happened. You may have been the reason Bjorn was away, but I am the reason the children are gone."

Shame colors her face at this, and she looks away from the mare, letting her eyes rest on the crashing surf. Bjorn had said he didn't blame her, and she believed him. But not even his acceptance of her shortcomings was enough for her to be okay with them.
