His heart quickens in his chest as he pushes himself from the shadows and into the sunlight. He squints against the bright sunlight and sets off at a lumbering walk across the quaint clearing.
As he pushes through the last of the thick foliage, his glacial eyes fall on Nya and his heart quickens in his chest. He does not slow until there is only just a sliver of light that separates them. He presses his chest into hers and wraps his muscular neck up and around her shoulders. Only a brief moment of silence passes between them before he pulls back from their embrace. His glacial eyes gaze deep into her dark eyes and finds worry lurking beneath the surface.
"They took him," was all he could manage. His heart hammers wildly agains this chest as he takes a deep breath and continues. "The Lagoon came and took our son."
As the words leave his lips he can feel the anger begin to boil beneath his smoky hide and his glacial eyes flash. He will insure they regret the day the set their filthy hooves on his shores.
