Devil's gonna get you if I don't first

She was smart to be unsure, but he knew right away the mare didn't realize who he was. The ruse was working, but for how long, he did not know. He would need to act fast, say all the right things, to get her home. This would be the only way he would get close to his son. He waits for her responce as he watches her body placement intently. She was unsure, but anyone would be in her situation. A battle was at her back and he was blocking her way to the sea. Anything could happen at this point. Grey ears flick forward as her voice reaches him over the sound of the waves. He remembers that voice vividly in his head, but not in the way she spoke now. He remembers her screams and her snorts as he raped her.

She made sure to mention her Forest family would be out looking for her. It was a usual tactic for someone in an unknown situation, but he didn't fear them. He had to keep his usual self from slipping out, but a delightful distraction was his painted son. The curious colt sneezes, causing Warsaw to chuckle, then begins to approach him like he was nothing to be afraid of. He couldn't help but think of himself as a small boy. "East!" The mare shouts the boy's name (what he assumes to be his name) and the mother and child reunite. Warsaw watches with interest as the two interact. His ears flicker as the mare suddenly speak her thoughts, saying aloud that she doesn't understand why this fighting was occurring. He wanted to show her why, give her an example, but he holds himself back.

"It is all very complicated." He says in those deep tones. Silence crosses them again as Warsaw debates on what to say next. It was the blind mare who speaks up, introducing herself as Echo. Uh oh, what should he say now? Should he make up a name to tell her or try to completely avoid the fact that he wasn't going to introduce himself. Before he could decide she throws an important question his way. He shook his head, but then remembered that she would need to hear words from him. He was about to speak when suddenly her demeanor changes. The mare begins to look fearful, panicked, and words rush from her lips. "I am not here to hurt either of you." He says quickly, taking a hasty step forward. "Calm yourself Echo or you will upset your son." He tries to turn her focus on the colt at her side who was watching her every move.

"I don't know what you plan to do, but you can't escape injury without crossing the sea. Allow me to lead you and your child to somewhere safe. I know that I am a stranger, but I own a piece of land on another island that is not filled with screams and danger. Please, you must save that child the nightmares of seeing the Forest be attacked." This was the only thing he could think of to make this plan work. Use the child to turn her focus on saving him. Make himself seem like the hero sent here to protect them and save their lives.
