At least she seemed to brighten up when he told her she didn't have to submit or anything, her lips tugging into a smile that lit up her whole face and left him feeling good that he could put it there. He turned to lead her toward the pack cache, glad that she seemed happy enough to lope along with him. When they got closer to the cache, he moved the stuff hiding it aside and let her get a good look at the carcass. Sure, it wasn't "just brought down" fresh but it was definitely still good enough meat for a hungry stomach. When she glanced at him as if making sure it was still okay, he smiled and nudged his head. "Go ahead, eat all you want. The pack won't mind. There's plenty to go around." He assured her. As she lunged forward, his eyes widened at first in shock before he chuckled lightly and took a seat, giving her space to enjoy the food. As she started to speak, he pricked his ears in rapt attention. She said that they didn't get sick from rotted meat, just diseased prey. She said that rotting flesh was okay to eat but didn't taste good and maggots if you got too hungry. He wrinkled his nose at the though but quickly sobered up as his expression softened. She must know all this because she had to look for her own food a lot. Still he couldn't help but ask. "Aren't they super slimy on your tongue though?" Then she seemed interested that he might know her family. He shrugged and nodded. "I don't know if I will, but my parents or my grandparents might. They've lived here for a loooong time." He emphasized the word with a grin. Not like he was calling them old or something, right? As she started to think, he pricked his ears and waited patiently. She said her grandmother's name and he tried to put it to memory. It didn't mean anything to him but maybe it would to someone else. His eyes widened when she said a name he did know though. "Boneclaw? I've been taught about her and Solevion! Well, a little bit anyway. Enough to know that pretty much any pack wolf in Spirane should know about her." He said with a chuckle. Then she said her grandmother had a sister and called her Moonglow. He scowled thoughtfully for a second. "The name sounds familiar like I might have been taught about her too. I wonder if she's related to Moonfeather. She's the head healer in Spirane. She's taught me a lot about herbs and stuff." He straightened up a little, feeling proud of his accomplishments before he wagged his tail. "I bet my parents or grandmother Daenerys might know the answers you're looking for.
